Adoptions

We do have some wonderful cats and kittens for adoption. The adults are friendly, tame cats that have been abandoned. The kittens where trapped at a very young age and fostered by a volunteer so they are very friendly and tame. All adoptable cats have been sterilized, vaccinated, micro-chip, de-wormed and tested negative for FeLv/Fiv. Click on our “Adoptable Adorables” to see some of what is available now.  We also have some of our furry felines ready for adoption at PetSmart in the Downey Landing. You can see them anytime during store hours. Our adoption hours at PetSmart are on Sundays from noon to 4:00pm. There is a $75.00 donation fee charged at the time of adoption that will help defer some of our costs. PetSmart is located at 12126 Lakewood Blvd. in Downey and their phone number is #562-803-1607.

Trapping

One of the most important things you can do to support our efforts is to spay or neuter your own pets. If you are caring for any feral or stray cats, please have them sterilized as soon as possible or e-mail us so we can arrange trapping, sterilize and return of the cat(s) to your care.  Sorry, but we only trap in the city of Downey.    Please contact us by e-mail at: havecatswilltrap@yahoo.com     Any feline trapped will be sterilized, vaccinated, micro-chip, receive necessary medical attention and will be returned back to location trapped.

Volunteers

We are truly blessed to have so many caring individuals dedicated to helping alleviate the overpopulation of felines in our community. If you are interested in joining our special team, please go to the PetSmart Adoption Center in the Downey Landing and fill out a volunteer application. Someone will be in contact with you. Duties available are: board member positions, clerical work, trapping, ticket sales/preparation for the fund raisers events and cleaning/feeding/socializing cats in the adoption center.
